Military feels the gouge of fuel costs - Conflict in Iraq

This is crazy. Now is the time to bring our soldiers home from all over the world. Let them protect our borders. We have enough hi-tech equipment and spies to keep an eye on the world at a small fraction of the cost. If some country wants to hire us to protect them, they PAY us. A billion dollar deposit then we will act. Our country is being DESTROYED from within. We don't need terrorists to defeat us our own economy is doing that quite well. The other enemy to our country is corporate GREED. Everybody wants to make more and more profit. Big Oil told Congress that $143 Billion in profits was fair because that is what the other companies made. That is a lame excuse. The other companies are just as much to blame then. Two wrongs don't make a right. It's time that we take America back and stop giving in to the profiteers.

I agree with you on most if not all of your points. Wow - you are going to see some comments from the CAT (Conservative Attack Team). Rush LIMPbaugh gave birth to all these guys and they'll be here soon. LOL. (I usually delete their nonsense).

Yeah, I believe in taking care of ourselves first and then maybe see who needs help. Nice blog and good luck with the CAT's.

I have always thought that companies should use their profits for any/all research & development. But I see the Government doling out monies for companies R&D. Why should the Government subsidize Big Oil?

You got it, Larry!

The point I especially agree with, and have been saying for quite a while myself, is that we don't need foreign terrorists to destroy America - the terrorists in the Republican party and the fat cats in big business they represent are doing more damage to our way of life than any foreign terrorist could ever imagine!

I'm sure that Osama is smilin' with joy at the permanent damage he has done to America, by ushering in a crew of leaders who "hate freedom" and are destroying our way of life far more than they could have ever imagined, all in the name of "fighting terrorism". I think the Republican opportunistic reaction is PRECISELY what bin Laden wanted to see happen!

America is seriously in debt, moving money from programs for people to the military budget, and our freedoms have been taken away. The terrorists won!

So the oil companies told Congress their profit is fair? What did they think they would say - that it is "horribly wrong for us to make this much money off the backs of working class Americans"??? That's like asking Charles Manson if his killing was okay. Congress should be asking US that question, not the big boys of big oil. But they just don't care, and it's obvious to most of us.

As I said, you got it, Larry. Hopefully, enough people will get it to start a change in direction this coming November.

Those right-wingers Speedy predicted will be here - they just don't get it. I put them into two loose categories - either they ARE the greedy rip-offs who lie cheat and steal to get where they got, and if they're not, the
