If you have the ability to work out of your home then consider this possibility:

Why not check with doctor's and dentist offices, and other like types of businesses, to see if anyone is disinfecting the children play areas in their waiting rooms.  If the toys and areas are only receiving a cursory cleaning like the rest of the waiting area then maybe you can suggest that a disinfecting cleaning should be done in the interests of not promoting the spreading around of diseases.  After all, kids love putting things in their mouths.

If you get into this type of business you could offer different packages for daily, weekly, or monthly cleanings.  Maybe they will even allow you to advertise your business with a sign in the areas that states that disinfecting of the toys and area are done by X company, because it also informs people that they are involved in due diligence and acting with concern for them and their children.

We have many small child play areas up here in doctor and dentist waiting rooms.

If anyone else cares to offer the unemployed other business ideas they may wish to pursue then please post them. Or if you have an employment tip, that most people wouldn't think of or haven't already heard, then please post it.

It's no skin off our nose if other people become employed with a little help from us; and if multiplied many times over it can help the economy which help us too.

As a parent myself, I hate it when my kids play with those toys at the doctor's office. I know they are full of germs and never would have had hte idea you had. Great idea! I have my own photography business and candle business. I wish something would happen to the economy soon.

It sounds like a great idea but with most workers being "at will" or "other duties as assigned", well, they should be doing such tasks.

Daycares/preschools are the number one business where all toys etc need cleaned on a repetitive basis. When we go to the doctors office we usually have our kids wash their hands with an antibacterial wipe.

I guess the play area at the McDonalds and other fine eating establishments need attention too.

But, do you know where the worst place is? How about pushing that shopping cart! It's gone through many hands and my guess is that someone (even just 1 person) didn't wash their hands after going to the restroom (yeah maybe #2).

Sorry, didn't know if the blog was steering towards cleanliness or job potentials. Thanks.

I don't let my daughter play with the toys in the Dr. office, there are alot of them & I have never seen anyone clean them, but I do see alot of sick kids playing with them & putting them in thier mouth.
The dentist office we use is very clean, I constantly see them using cleaning agents on every thing that gets touched. They even have the kids use germx before putting their hand in the toy chest.

They don't have to be exclusive of each other. We all know that cleaning employment has existed throughout history, and your points are valid.

And, if you can think of another idea outside of that field that could lead to someone becoming employed in his/her own business than please post it.

One business that has died down but can still be rejuvenated is the portable car washers.

When I sold real estate years ago on our sales meeting days, this company would come by and power wash and rinse our cars.

Back then it was $5 and they dried them and armor-alled the tires. I know it would be around $10 nowadays but something to look at.

There are many real estate agents and businesses in general that would get a group discount since you know you can hit about 10 or 20 cars in a row.

Of course, this is a late spring to early fall job and an occasional winter warm day. Just something to ponder.
