Everyone claims their own individual freedom rights even to the point of demanding the law throw away the religious moral rights and beliefs of the majority to cater to them. There are an awful lot of people complaining about the state of the economy, yet those same people don’t seem to realize that the basic democratic freedom economy that allows everyone to seek their own path to happiness and profit, without responsibility or concern for others, is what caused all the economic problems currently affecting the US.

If you watch the news you’ll notice the politicians want to either tax the windfall profits of the oil companies or to go after the speculators who they claim are driving oil prices up. The oil companies have made their profits following the rules the politicians put in place. The speculators are only following the market place rules of trading to seek a profit. These same politicians claim they are all for the US democratic system but they now seek to punish those who were following the rules, or lack thereof, that they put in place. The many companies that shuffled so many jobs out of the country are also just following the rules the government put in place, the same as the companies that also put their quick profit above the concerns of the country to sell those mortgages that were designed with the full knowledge that most of them would fail.

Now let us all bow down and worship our countries that cater to individual selfish desires before that of respecting and protecting the country which is all the people, and let us not complain about the results of our worship.

We might want to remember to pray for our leaders, lest we deserve what we get when we don't.

Praying for them to be responsible leaders is good, and trying to communicate with them to offer up information that they may not necessarily encounter is important too so there will be a better chance they will be able to make informed choices.

Speculators are needed for wages in this country. I speculate that wages will be tied to the cost of living and minimum wage will reach $25.00 per hour by the end of the year.
Seems in oil all it needs is to be said and it becomes reality. Therefore I'm saying publicly that minimum wage will be $25 per hour. Tomorrow everyone should see a raise.
See how stupid it sounds? Why does it work for oil?

Your comments as to this economic problem in this country are rather dumb.
"Religious moral rights" are non-existent in the United States. Even by your own statement about profit before anything else, tells the whole story in this country.
The only morals in this county are stick it to your neighbor before he sticks it to you.
We the under 200,000 dollars a year majority of Americans, are now getting it stuck to all of us by the 1% in control of our government. As George Bush leads the way for his Mega Rich Oil buddies to stick it to all of us poor folks.
Praying will get you no were, but soar knees. Doing something will.
To turn around this economic mess the Republicans have put us in will take years.
Truth is the oil problems are only going to get worse not better in the comming months. The jobs that we have lost, over seas are never coming back.
But, we Americans know how to solve these problems. Build new fuel efficient cars, drill for natural gas in America, rebuild our failing leves, roads, schools and bridges. There are a lot of public works projects to be done that have not been done in years. Invest in American know how and not let it go over seas for selfish profits.
Invent new things and build them here, like we did 100 years ago. Americans, know how to get things done, we just have to start doing them.

Once again littlebowpeep hasn't a clue, unless by mega rich oil buddies he means Algore,Kerry, and Teddy K. These 3 have devoted their entire political lives to raising gas prices in this country.Tell me they don't own oil stock. Wait a minute these 3 are not Republicans. Had these democratics passed the Bush energy policies proposed in his 1st term, there would be no oil problem.

For the next 1 or 2 hundred years the world economy is going to run on oil. The only way the US can survive in the world economy is to produce more oil and use less of it.

The question is---How can we produce more oil? The answer is ---We can't.

Oil companies can produce more oil if the Democratic Party will let them. A bunch of people can get rich producing more oil. What a novel idea----People getting rich producing a desperately needed product.
