PERTZ

Here's a switch in the negative political ad arena.  Some this morning wonder how McCain knew it was a job well done since he recorded this ad before O's speech Thursday night.

Republicans argue it is what it is and McCain was simply honoring the MLK speech 45 years ago and the fact that America has changed in so many ways using O as an example.

It's marketing....

I don't trust or like either one. They are both lying idiots saying what needs to be said to get elected.

After it's all over, they'll take what they want. Obama (our left arm) or McCain (our right arm) - it's all about survival John!

Hang in there and have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

Mccain ran this ad to catch the attention of the undecided voters and also the flip floppers.

Simple as that!

It is clever, alright - very clever.

But right afterward, I saw the usual McCain ad claiming Obama will raise my taxes, which is a lie. I know, because I don't make over $250,000 a year or have capital gains from oil futures, so Obama's not raising MY taxes. And their ads don't even bother to lie, anymore (I guess they got enough believing the fairy story) - they just come right and say he's going to give tax breaks to oil companies and that's good because it will create jobs!! Oh yeah, where's all the jobs from their tax breaks over the last seven years?

McCain's normal ads just keep mentioning "raise your taxes" ad nauseum. The way I figure it, if your taxes go up under Obama, then consider yourself fortunate you saved so much from our shared burden of Bush's war with your huge tax break over the last seven years, which the hardest working Americans paid for.

The party may just about be over for the rich and their tax breaks. And, oh, don't they know it!

ok...now I am excited. And for those of you who are democrats and/or Obama followers, please forgive me....

I think McCain just made one of the smartest choices of his life...my personal feelings, my personal belief. I have been so lukewarm about this WHOLE election...but now I am no longer that!

I REALLY like Sarah Palin.....Do I know if all of his reasons for choosing her are good and pure? no...and maybe some of them arent. BUT all in all it was still a very good and smart choice. I think it is going to light things up.

I am excited....

Sik your vote isn't for what is good for the country but only what is good for You? How many Jobs have been created during the last 8 years which wouldn't have been if it wasn't for the tax cuts? You need to go to the oil states and see the number of good paying jobs created by oil companies. to say that those people don't work hard is a sin. I am glad that there are insurance salepeople because one talked my mom and dad into buying life insurance which if they didn't have my mom would have lost our home when dad died.

John Pertzborn, sorry but your comments are idiotic! Who Cares, McCain showed some class with the add!

I am also very happy that McCain chose Sarah Palin as well. She is a strong Conservative woman. This was a smart pick!! The more upset that liberals get over this pick, the more I am confident that it was a smart pick! Obama has a real problem with women voters, and McCain did the right thing!!

"On this historic day." Does anyone else feel the strong pull of a "racial smack" in that comment. Implying, maybe, it's not what you've done, but who you are. Could he have not done this a little more subtle.

Obama is going to raise taxes - look at the tax rate in Illinois and if you think the rest of the states will not have their taxes raised - think again. I thought it was good what McCain told Obama - it shows to me he is a good man. Lets see if BO returns the favor. I am sure right now BO is not too happy with McCain's choice for VP, I think it was the perfect choice. She already has said more about what her issues are than what I have heard from BO or his VP. She cleaned up Alaksa.

Wasn't this a political ploy just like the stadium was for Obama? I don't really care. . . but it is okay for McCain to have political ploys and not Obama, right?

And she has less experience than Obama.

And why are you conservatives giving Pertzborn crap?

iT'S KINDA IRONIC TO ME HOW MANY PEOPLE ON THAT SIDE OF THE RIVER ARE FOR THIS GUY. For over 20yrs both my wife and I have heard how great Missouri is compared to IL. Now you have a law maker from IL running for president and you people are supporting him like no tomarrow...But you don't agree with our taxs or any other part of our state and believe me Chicago is no jewel, housing is terrible up there as are gas prices...I don't get it!!

Mike they are clueless as to what BO does. They do not have to drive to another state for gas since BO would not remove the excess tax from the gasoline when he was requested to do so since gas hit over the four dollar mark, they have no idea how much our taxes are on realestate, and they will not search for the issues. So with that said if BO wins - he will show them just what we in Illinois are going through and we will listen to them cry then.

McCains VP has a lot more experience than BO - she has 2 years BO has 143 DAYS her record shows she has many more accomplishments than BO.

Mutatis I do not get the comparison between McCain saying "BO congratulations" and BO with the stadium. BO with the stadium was showing his "see me, see me, I am the greatest" where McCain was congratulating BO and not saying how great he, McCain was. I just do not see where the comparison comes in. BO tried to look like a rock star and McCain looked like a gentleman. If McCain saying congratulations was a political ploy - then it was a good one.
