Oh ... the other Old Route 66 story ... dad helped me drive my little Honda out to college back in '89. There is a good part of the old road that parallels the freeway in Arizona. We took that instead ... and it was fun!

I remember we stopped in an old hamburger joint in Kingman, Arizona and had lunch!

I had the t-shirt for a long time and wore it at Mizzou for years.

That was a great trip and time spent with my dad!

Have a few select memories of the "66 Park-In" Drive-In movie theatre in Crestwood. K-SHE studio was right there, also, and right across Watson Road was/is "Crestwood Plaza", which originally had only outdoor access. Up the street was the only McDonalds within driving distance from home. Also remember Coral Court, but never utilized it! (Love local history!)
Hey, Web Chick, I also had a little Honda bought in '89 that I loved-It was a CRX two-seater hatchback.

I have fond childhood memories of the Belle Air Drive in (near Granite City). My mom would pop a bunch of pop corn and make some KoolAide which we'd munch on and drink while we watched the movie. Also remember being scared on many trips across the narrow old Chain of Rocks bridge, with a 45 degree turn in the middle of it. I also remember trips to Meremec Caverns State Park as a child, you'd top those hills and 'loose your stomach' on the way down.
