Wow...It's about time!  Today Freeman Bosley Sr. will announce at City Hall along with close to 30 aldermen, that the section of 4th Street in from of the old court house will become Dred Scott Way.  You know who Dred Scott was, and if you don't, study up!

Anyway, Scott's great, great grandaughter is in the process of petitioning all the property owners on 4th street to rename all of 4th, Dred Scott Way.  I hope no one stands in her way.   Anyone remember when Tucker was 12th?  or Lenore K. Sullivan was just plain Warf Street?

Anyone out there have a street named after a relative?  In Dane County Wisconsin, there's a Pertzborn Drive.  I would hate to get a speeding ticket there!

I think I will go up there with a picket sign. Just kidding. They can name it anything they want. They can come change the name of my street it is too hard for people to pronounce.

I always thought it was funny how St. Louis pronounce Goethe (Go-Thee) Where as Goethe pronounced his name Goo-Tah

I always wanted to live on Hydraulich :0

When my daughter was in 6th grade we went to the old courthouse and the kids did an re-enactment of the Dred Scott case.It was really interesting! And the court house is beautiful. They need to redo some of the historic buildings down town.people could reallyy learn alot about history and the history of st.louis.They should fix up and restore instead of tear down.I also went on the tom sawyer cruise and took alot of interesting pictures. If you dont have pictures to remind you of the past history, you loose respect for how and who and why it began.
