Of course Israel has a powerful military - we American taxpayers have been paying for it out the nose for 25+ years now, because they are so "oppressed" and all. Well, come on, we know the real reason. They're the richest ethnic population on Earth, and we defend the powerful privileged elite wherever the exist in the world!

But you are saying we should be afraid of Obama because Israel is afraid of them? Excuse me, I could really give a rat's butt what Israel thinks of Obama. So he won't be there to do their dirty work? Too bad, let them whine all they want and do their own defending.

Quite frankly, I'd like to elect leaders who will have the guts to cut off Israel as a taxpayer burden and let them go it alone. After all, we are talking about the ONLY nation on earth with nuclear weapons who WON'T ADMIT IT, they have more nuclear weapons per capita than any other nation on earth, and they could probably defeat US if they wanted. Their hawks have stated many times their willingness to destroy anyone - EVEN US - if we don't bow to their demands. Talk about biting the hand that feed you...

I'm not so sure that Israel is waiting for an okay from us, as they are waiting until we stop holding them back from doing it.

I don't think any of you are considering what is going on in the West Bank and that Hamas has several valid claims against the Isrealy military. As a former Armor Brigade training clerk I know that past battles of the Arab Coalition and the Isreali forces cannot even provide adequate training scenario's since there is no way Isreal should have won. But now we are faced with less and less acceptance of what the Isreali military is doing to civilian populations that aren't Jewish.

If Isreal pulls a military blunder your asking for a loss of American Military lives that will pale in comparison to what has happened since we invaded Iraq. Gas prices will go much much higher for us and world opinion will turn solidly against us in a way we've never seen before.

Republican rhetoric in chosing to be so one-sided has missed the boat of the sense the first Bush tried to communicate... we need our own non white male dominated intelligence agency in the middle east and indeed in China... we are begging to be invaded by the Mexi-Chino sleeper units that may be here already... all they need is a significant turn in world opinion.
