The sound of fear may be fireworks or a thunderstorm - depending on your dog. Is your dog scared of loud noises? Apparently, more than 20% of dogs are sensitive enough to noises that they actually need professional help! Is your dog one of them?

My sister-in-law had a dog she had to put on medication around the 4th. Poor thing would have a nervous breakdown without.

Our dog hides in the house where there is no windows when she hears fireworks. Thunder doesn't bother her.

Our dog gets a little nervous and can start shaking...but she shakes easily anyway!

My parents dog used to jump into the bathtub in their bathroom with fireworks or thunder!

When my husband was growing up, the family dog (a mini Schnauzer) would hide under the sofa in the basement. All he could fit under the couch was his head and two front feet! His little butt wold be sticking out, but he wasn't coming out as long as he could hear the booms!

We had another mini Schnauzer after we got married, and he couldn't have cared less!

When I was growing up, our little mutt and our Daschound didn't *like* fireworks, but would be put up with them as long as they could sit next to us.

Now we have just the cat, as he doesn't care ... in fact, he usually sleeps.

My dog, a Westie, is very afraid of loud noises, be it thunder or fireworks. Aound this time of year when I take him outside when he hears the first bang he goes right back to the door. And when there are tstorms he follows me around everywhere ans sometimes shakes. Poor guy.

I live right down the road from the PD and FD..I think he is more senistive to the sirens on the trucks rather than fireworks. He sleeps through a storm like me.

our dog is nuts.he barks at fire crackers, when he sees a rabbit,he barks at the school kids.
they gather across the street across from our house during there breaks and at noon.they smoke.the dog looks out the window the whole time and barks at them.he barks at thunder and lighting.if he is in the house .he uses the excuse of loud noises to poop in the house.
then he heres my loud voice cussing him for pooping in the house.our dog is the only one on the street that barks.he dont need help.that is what a dog is suppose to do.bark
the ones that dont bark.have a problem.they are probably to scared to bark because there owner might knock the snot out of them.maybe they have a shock collar on or maybe they went to obediant school.yep!our dog is normal .and he is nuts!

My dog just act like he does not hear anything, but let a baby bunny come in our yard, he gets very upset. He is a chichiua and very afraid of bunnies. It is so cute.
