Have you heard Chuy's in Dogtown is closing!

They say business has slacked off since the Highway 40 construction project started--

It's a neighborhood favorite. They're closing their doors on July 3rd..

Yeah getting there was a huge change but now with gas prices, power bills, grocery expenses, property taxes, and just plain increases in everything well, Chuy's and others will close.

I can honestly say that I have never heard of this place,, But I would not blame it on Hwy 40.... I would be more inclined to believe it is from the trickle down effect of everybody just running out of money..... You can't go anywhere without a hundred dollar bill.... Just wait until gas hits 6 dollar a gallon... We won't be able to afford groceies either......

Can't eat out and can't eat in.......

I haven't heard of it either. But the economy is getting worse and worse. Pretty soon won't be able to afford to drive to the store for grocery's But until then we will go place's when we can.
It is sad alot of old businesses are closing.

i have heard of it it is next to the old tomboy store on clayton rd. as for the economy getting worst there seems to be money for the bloggers to buy gas to drive all around to meet ech other and take scenic photos.

Miamiman it is none of your business what the blogger's spend their money on. It isn't coming out of your pocket. So why does it bother you so much that some of get together once in awhile. You are free to join us anytime. If you can afford it. If you can't then we won't see you. Some of us have never met you, nor have you met some of us but yet you have your own opinion of us. I alway's like to meet some one before I make an opinion.

Fox2 morning's you can delete these two comment if you wish as some of it is off subject.

all i was saying is people say it is a poor ecomomy but people are still spending money so the economy would grind to a halt in which it has not yet so i guess the economy is good then right. your opinion on the economy is just yours no anybody elses and people do not have to agree with you also.

there is a restraunt around the corner from chuyes that does good business and it is owned by danny liston from the band mamas pride and he does good business there even in this economy per say.

My daughter took us to Chuy's one time. We liked it and I know it's one of her favorite spots. That's a bummer that it's closing. I'm sure there will be much more of this in the months to come.

That is sad-we were taken there about 9yrs ago by friends who live in the city and love it. We have gone less to eat in STL but it is more the gas price then the hwy 40.

I've known you for over 30years! You were Always a really nice guy....what happened? You 'meet up' with the 'wrong' people? or are those meds you are taking affecting your brain?
