What Would You Do With $5000?

A new survey done by St. Louis-based Scottrade says most of us would **not** go on a spending spree with the money from our tax rebate checks?

Which begs the question-- what would **you** do with that money if someone handed it over to you today? Would you save it, pay off debt-- or spend it?

Let us know! We'll be talking about this subject on Thursday around 7:25am on Fox 2 News in the Morning.

If I won.With the cost of gasoline and food going up.It would help us and let us help our kids with that.For a little while anyway.Pay check don't go far anymore for anyone.

My price is 50,000 for free and then would spend some of it on something stupid. Otherwise nothing changes for me.

Well as most know I don't like money so I would probley give it away..I give most of it to my mom an dad then share the rest with blogging friends..I would have to give some to the animal shelter...

I would save it. It is ridiculous the way prices of everything, especially gasoline, keeps going up. But, not my paycheck!

The money will come in helpful when we put new siding on the house. It will increase the value of the house and help boost the economy by spending it. I think that is better than in the bank.

Harp how much are you planning on getting back? The most we can get back is $1500, we have only one child we claimed.

The only debt I have is my home, and since I only bought what I knew I could afford I am doing ok financially as far as the house goes.

I dont drive much so the price of gas is inconvenient but not a serious problem.

No kids.

I have not much in the way of savings so 5 grand would go there.

Oops sorry, I just reread the title. $5000 to spend is another story. Harp I guess you could pass it around with that amount. If someone handed me $5000 beside siding there would be new thermal windows in my future too. Since my hubby is handy and does the work himself I might get a larger screen in porch. He has almost everything we need to do it.

we need a new heating and A/C system and the bids I got LAST yr was around that much! So unfortunately THAT is what I would do with it.

sounds exciting huh? ( I would rather go on a cruise...b/c I have never been and would absolutely LOVE to go....)

Tithe 10% then pay toward credit card debt.

Notice how I wouldn't expect the government to bail me out of my bad choice of racking the debt up in the first place? I'll pay my debt because it's MY personal responsibility : )
