Is it just me or is there more and more road rage these days?

I've seen people get flipped off - cut off - and honked at so much lately in the Clayton/Brentwood & Richmond Heights area-- On top of that, people are doing some crazy things - like blocking oncoming traffic to make an illegal u-turn!

The intersection at Dale/Eager/Hanley has got to be the worst intersection in St. Louis. Drivers are always blocking that intersection!  What do you think?

Are you seeing more road rage - and have you driven through that intersection lately??

Road Rage - where...MOVE OVER! I don't know that specific intersection but overall - people need to think of other drivers. Even though I speed (a little) I get out of the left lane when the right lane is open. These people that drive in the left lane (including cops) need to be ticketed - it's illegal in Illinois to camp in that lane.

Yeah, you'll get the person rolling the stop sign, or letting their car drift into your lane but flipping the bird isn't the answer. What goes around comes around - these bad drivers will see the light - literally.

I try to ignore bad drivers and I can't remember the last time I flipped off anyone in the car - it's too dangerous. My motto is (on interstate) if you stay ahead of most traffic you'll be safe. So, Sunday drivers .... pretend like it's Monday - keep moving!

Don't get me started. Stay as far away from S. County as you can. That is the hub of terrible driving. Which includes driving with your brights on 24/7 (well at least while it's dark)

Guess road rage isn't a problem since there's only 2 of us commenting?

I have wanted to comment on this, everytime I got started I was interupted. This time I hope I finish it.

I can't believe how mad people get when you are following the law. Some idiot wanted me to right on red when the opposite direction had the light and turning into the far right lane. I received double birds and several horn blast. I turned right about the same time cross traffic got the light. The idiot cut off the corss traffic and gave the people who had the right away the bird also.

The most common road rage I experience is verbally (sometimes they will also cut me off after yelling at me) being attacked for having GOD BLESS AMERICA personlized plates on a Mazda. Mostly by Chrysler Truck Drivers. The BIG 3 own and share interchange their parts with all the foreign cars. I would like to tell these people you can yell at me all you want ONLY IF YOU NEVER EVER BOUGHT ANYTHING FOREIGN. I like to know where their electronics, clothes, and shoes are from. To me they are a bunch of hypocrites.

Road Rage is a big problem. People are sleep deprived, paying more for everything, over worked, paid less, let go from jobs, over the credit limit......(I could go on) and all of these mixtures behind the wheel makes a road rage. I drive eight miles to work and three miles to my gym (gas and grocer are nearby) but that's enough time behind the wheel for me to be in a rage! :0)

The holidays seem to be the worse. Two years ago some woman thought I took a parking spot from her on purpose and tried to run me down in her SUV. The funny thing is there were spots all over. The one I parked in was maybe 4 spaces closer than other available spots. She followed me into the store, said some nasty words and then followed me out. When I got in my car, I headed away from her. She went out of her way to come around at me and aimed her vehicle at mine. She hit the gas and missed my driver’s side and mirror by inches. In her effort to scare me, she almost ran an entire family down in front of Chucky Cheese. I tried to get her license plate, but could not.

Hanley, Dale and Eager - funny you should mention that intersection. Two weeks ago I had a woman make a left onto Eager in front of me while the light was green (not left turn arrow) She darted into the turn so quickly she was nearly T-Boned by a Richmond Heights police car. The cop didn't go after her.

I called Richmond Heights, spoke with the Captain who made the excuse that the officer may have been on a call. Not to be stopped there I suggested that he go check the radio log/tape since I had the exact time of the occurrance. He called me back and told me he had spoken with the officer who vividly recalled the incident as in the officer's words, "I couldn't have missed the car by more than an inch." I inquired again why the driver had not been cited to which he mumbled some lame excuse that the officer was too shaken and the street was too crowded to make a stop.

Mind you of course, these are the same idiots who won't write a ticken when a violation hits them in the face, but want to put cameras up all over town in order to rake in the revenue. If I had the offender's plate I would have gone and signed the complaint myself.

folks its everywhere. people just so unhappy with their own lives that they take it out on everyone else. Even folks in my rural area are getting too busy caught up in the fast life to even wave anymore. But i know a couple of horseshoers that will wave at ya.

When I see "the bird" flying at me, I usually wave and smile. The person just looks at me like, "Is she an idiot?" or "Darn it, she thinks I'm waving at her!" Either way, it's my way of getting back without showing they got me upset. And it's a lot more family friendly with my kids in the car.
