My Move to Colorado...

Well, some of you already know that I am no longer in the St Louis metro area. For those that don't, my Army hubby was given orders for Ft Carson CO, so it was simply time to go.

We headed out on October 23rd, drove to Ft Riley Kansas and stayed the night, then finished the drive to Colorado Springs the next day. That puts us here about two weeks now. We have since found a place to live and are awaiting the delivery of our household goods on Tuesday. Yes, the military life can be a bit harry at times. Never knowing what's next, getting there and not having a place to call home yet, and even when you do sometimes not having anything to put in said home. It takes a patient and flexible person to tolerate most things that come at you...so I've learned anyway.

So, I thought it would be fun to show you all how our trip went. I put together this little slideshow...a virtual move for those of you watching. We drove two vehicles. My hubby drove his truck and towed the U-Haul trailer. I followed in the Avalanche with BOTH cats in the truck with me. Ya, I know most of you are thinking I must be nuts...driving with two cats in the car with me. Not really...LOL. The were actually very well behaved and slept most of the time...as you'll see in the video.

Well...enjoy your drive out to lovely Colorado! Pay attention and you'll even be able to figure out the fastest route to come visit me!!

Erin with a G. Colorado is beautiful. Went to Colorado Springs for 2 weeks in my younger years for a soccer Tourney. Plus my brother use to live in Denver.

I love the road trip! The pictures are wonderful. I miss ya little lady! Hey, you take my pitcher and my cup that said Pam? The cup is orginal it came from Alabama, so you have a little hick in your crib. LOL!

Erin!!! I miss you girl. Great pics. You know I will be out there in a few months. Heck I may even come with a U-haul and the whole family. I loved the pics and the mountains a beautiful. Can't wait to see you.

Cool Erin.I just had some nabors kids come back from there.Now they are in Indiana I think.Constrution not Military tho.Hope you enjoy yourself.Keep in touch with the blogs.

Erin, at least you'll get to see that beauty daily. My niece and her hubby just moved from Memphis to Georgia. Her hubby is an officer in the Navy. They ended up having to rent their home in Memphis and miss it very much, but were able to find a home of a fellow Navy that had just been transferred, so they were able to rent it for their stay. This is the 6th city they have lived in since they were married. But at least she has a great job she does from home.

One good thing, it's nice to have people do the move for you, even if it does take a few extra weeks to get your stuff. Less strain on the family. Good luck to you.

It was so good talking to you tonight! I really miss you and your txt came at a perfect time! Tell Mel "Waz up!" Did he hang those candles the right way? HEHE

It's just me...Erin G. I'm married with 4 kids and two cats. My hubby and I just moved to Colorado Springs, CO. The Army said go, so it was bye-bye Scott AFB, hello Ft. Carson. Oh but it was hard to leave! In the 3 years we were in Illinois/St Louis Metro area I met so many wonderful people, got to meet Rachael Ray with Randi Naughton from Fox, became a Bloggette (WOOT WOOT!), met so many others from Fox 2 and the blogs and forged everlasting friendships (girls, ya know who you are!), and last but not least, became an STLMom. So it is without hesitation that I can and will say that I truly loved my time in the St Louis metro and I will certainly miss each and every one of you who have been a part of my life the last three years! Just remember...it's never goodbye...just see ya lata! So until we meet again...BLOG ON my friends! Peace, Love and Hugz!
