Hello fellow bloggers!

This is my first post on myfoxcolorado.com, just taking a moment to say hello.  My hubby and I just moved from the St Louis metro area to Colorado Springs.  I was very involved in myfoxstl.com and thought I'd check out my new local site.

If you're a regular blogger, stop by and say hello, I'd love to get to know some of you.  Check out my profile if you're curious about me.

Peace!

Well, some of you already know that I am no longer in the St Louis metro area. For those that don't, my Army hubby was given orders for Ft Carson CO, so it was simply time to go.

We headed out on October 23rd, drove to Ft Riley Kansas and stayed the night, then finished the drive to Colorado Springs the next day. That puts us here about two weeks now. We have since found a place to live and are awaiting the delivery of our household goods on Tuesday. Yes, the military life can be a bit harry at times. Never knowing what's next, getting there and not having a place to call home yet, and even when you do sometimes not having anything to put in said home. It takes a patient and flexible person to tolerate most things that come at you...so I've learned anyway.

So, I thought it would be fun to show you all how our trip went. I put together this little slideshow...a virtual move for those of you watching. We drove two vehicles. My hubby drove his truck and towed the U-Haul trailer. I followed in the Avalanche with BOTH cats in the truck with me. Ya, I know most of you are thinking I must be nuts...driving with two cats in the car with me. Not really...LOL. The were actually very well behaved and slept most of the time...as you'll see in the video.

Well...enjoy your drive out to lovely Colorado! Pay attention and you'll even be able to figure out the fastest route to come visit me!!

Peace, Love and Hugz...from Colorado Springs!!

We blog everyday, using a fascinating and powerful piece of hardware, but do you ever take the time to think about it's evolution?

I just ran across the video below on YouTube. It's from January 24, 1984...the birth of the MAC. It was pulled from the archives, dusted off and presented to the computer user masses on MAC's 21st birthday in 2005. Whether you're a PC or MAC user, I think you'll enjoy this walk down memory lane.

FANTASTIC!

OK...I'm sure you read the title of this blog and thought...SHE'S NUTS! Nah...not really....LOL! Hubby and I are on our way to Colorado for the week. We're clipping our way down I-70 through Kansas and I started getting bored. I pulled out the laptop and plugged in the Sprint Wireless Internet card and BAM...I'm surfin the net!

Now before you all start freaking out and call the state patrol or something...the hubby is driving, not me...LOL!

So I connected to the web, logged into my Yahoo messenger and there were my girls...Jana and Katie! We got to chattin...and I plugged in the webcam so they could see what I was seeing even! Too COOL!!!

So right now hubby and I are sitting at Sonic getting ready to each lunch. I'm typing this while we wait for our food. Jana's changing her laundry out while the food is cooking and Katie took a break from the PC for now. We'll hop back on the highway and I'll keep right on chatting until it's my turn to drive again.

But before I go...I gotta give props to Sprint for this amazing internet card that works off of the cell phone towers instead of cable or dsl...good job Sprint! This road trip is soooooo NOT boring, that's for sure!!!

If you're someone who has me on their Yahoo messenger friends list...log in and ask to view my webcam so you can see what I see on my roadtrip too!

Lata everyone!!!

Hello Everyone!

As I mentioned in my last blog, I've been out of the blogging loop for a couple weeks.  So, I don't know how much posting has been done about this Friday night with the Bloggettes and the Z-Man.  But, I've caught wind that a couple people said they didn't know about it.

So here's the OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT...

Friday, March 23rd, 7:00pm @ Salvatore's in St. Charles.  Most people have called and made a reservation, so you might want to do that to make sure you have someplace to sit.  But hurry, I hear they're getting pretty packed and it's only Thursday...LOL!  I'm not sure what time Glenn's band will start playing, but the last outing it was @ 9pm.

So that's the scoop.  Come on out and join us...I'm sure Glenn would love the support!

Hello Everyone!!

OK, let me start by saying that I know I haven't been on the blogs much lately, and I'm SO SORRY!!

Things were a little interesting in my world for a couple weeks there, but it's all settled down now.  So for all of those that I haven't talked to in awhile...I MISS YOU!!  I'll be at Glenn's gig this Friday night in St. Charles as well as the Blog-a-Palooza Saturday. So for anyone else that's going, I shall see you all there!

And for the oh so sizzlin hot Bloggettes...you're still my girls and I'll be seeing you all soon!!

Sigh…I am so disappointed.

I was one of the very first bloggers on this site and I remember when it was really fun to come here and share my opinion with others, laugh a little at some of the silly things people would say, make new friends, win contests.

Now most of what I see is something out of high school…unnecessary drama, fighting and bickering and even threats against other people’s safety and lives.

I can’t understand the reason behind it, and frankly I don’t want to because there is nothing that anyone could say to me to convince me it's necessary.

I see too many bloggers who take what is said on this forum way too seriously.  I know that some bloggers that have been banned from this site have made many attempts to get back on.  For what??  Does life revolve solely around what we say within this community of words??  If it does for you then you need to seriously take a good look at what your life is about and find something more constructive to do with your time.

I’ve met many friends here.  To the Bloggettes…you know you’re my girls!  But when my closest friend, G35Ryda, chooses to leave the blogs completely because of all the drama, I think that’s sad.  And when one of the sweetest little bug’s you will ever meet has her life threatened by some crazy short guy I’m left feeling upset and on the defense.

Fox2 webteam, I appreciate all that you have done to keep this site in control.  That is part of why I haven’t left yet.  But you can’t, and shouldn’t, have to do it alone.  Each and every person that visits these blogs has a part in this too.  When you created your user account you made an agreement to be respectful to your fellow bloggers.  Don’t you know that your own behavior is a reflection of yourself?  If you can’t be respectful to others then you don’t have much self-respect and that’s pretty darn sad.

The Good Book says…Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  My kids have heard that a million times over in their lifetime because those are words to live by.  I taught them that if what’s about to come out of your mouth is directed at another person and it’s something you would find hurtful or disrespectful if it were said to you then you have absolutely NO business saying it them.  Instead, you walk away, you choose to be the bigger person and you let it go.

I won’t keep on with my soapbox much longer as I am not your Mother.  But I had to vent.  Besides, I was due to post a new blog anyway, and I usually don’t unless I’ve got something I really want to say.  So I’ll just end with this…it’s time the drama ends, it’s time we graduate from high school and move on.  It’s time to get back to the fun and friends and not have to worry that some crazy maniac blogger is going to crash a party and hurt someone.  It’s time to get along, and it’s time that peace came back to myfoxstl again.  Because I would really hate for it to be time for me to leave too.

I received this joke in an email today and I thought you'd all get a kick out of it too.

Enjoy!!

This morning on Highway 41, I looked over to my left and there was a
woman in a brand new Cadillac doing 65 mph with her face up next to her
rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner.

I looked away for a couple seconds and when I looked back she was
halfway over in my lane, still working on that makeup.

As a man, I don't scare easily.   But she scared me so much; I dropped
my electric shaver, which knocked the donut out of my other hand.

In all the confusion of trying to straighten out the car using my knees
against the steering wheel, it knocked my cell phone away from my ear
which fell into the coffee between my legs, splashed, and burned Big Jim
and the Twins, ruined the damn phone, soaked my trousers, and
disconnected an important call.

Damn women drivers!!

This blog is more for the ladies...unless there are some guys out there who like to throw on a great looking pair of heels now and then...LOL!

OK ladies...I recently bought myself an great pair of black peep-toe, 3-1/4" heels and let me tell you...I felt so amazing in these shoes!!!  Perhaps some of you can relate.  Sometimes the perfect pair of shoes just transforms you and you feel, not just taller (I'm 5'2" without those heels, 5'5" with!) but leaner, sexier, fun and flirty, and so much more confident in so many ways!  The right pair of shoes can bring out a side of you that's powerful and strong, ready to take on anything, or anyone!  No challenge is too great and the world just seems like it's yours for the taking.  Pair those shoes with the right outfit, or in this case, dress and you're unstoppable!!

So ladies, go get that pedicure, find those HOT heels and start walkin...the world is waiting for you to strut your stuff!!

OK, I have to vent a little bit.  I LOVE blogging on here, but sometimes I get so bored because there are so many repeat blogs that I wonder why I'm here.  I forever have what I call "bloggers block" because if someone else has posted something that I had on my mind, and might have posted about, I don't post my own version of the same thing just because I can.  Anyway, maybe we need to read what others are blogging about before we post our own to avoid some of this.  Then if someone has already blogged, just leave a comment to put your thoughts out there.  Of course, this is just my opinion, but I'd be surprised if I'm the only person on here that feels this way. Comment or not...either way, have a super day!

I keep catching people asking here and there in various posts but most have been in passing. Soooo, I'm just gonna put it out there loud enough for everyone to hear.

It's just me...Erin G. I'm married with 4 kids and two cats. My hubby and I just moved to Colorado Springs, CO. The Army said go, so it was bye-bye Scott AFB, hello Ft. Carson. Oh but it was hard to leave! In the 3 years we were in Illinois/St Louis Metro area I met so many wonderful people, got to meet Rachael Ray with Randi Naughton from Fox, became a Bloggette (WOOT WOOT!), met so many others from Fox 2 and the blogs and forged everlasting friendships (girls, ya know who you are!), and last but not least, became an STLMom. So it is without hesitation that I can and will say that I truly loved my time in the St Louis metro and I will certainly miss each and every one of you who have been a part of my life the last three years! Just remember...it's never goodbye...just see ya lata! So until we meet again...BLOG ON my friends! Peace, Love and Hugz!
