Hello everyone, the storm system  that has caused a blog rush about snow is almost here!!  And it could bring the first snow of the season depending on where you are.  The potent cold front with the cutter low will arrive late tonight bringing a round of showers and possibly a thunderstorm to the area.  Afterwards a secondary low is expected to develope and quickly move along the cold front across the Ohio Valley region. If all goes to plan like I think it will; rain will be ongoing on Wednesday and Wednesday night with temperatures falling out of the 50's to the 40's.  As we move into the evening hours between 10pm and 12am the rain should begin transitioning into sleet in the STL metro area. And finally ending as wet BIG sloppy snow flakes with possibly a dusting in the STL metro area. However further east and south towards salem rain should switch to sleet and snow between 1am and 3am. So with that said what about Thanksgiving? Here's my revised forecast for the STL area and Salem area.

Tonight-  Showers and possibly a thunderstorm mainly aftermid night low 55-58 degrees.

Wed- Rain likely high in the mid to upper 50's with falling temperatures into the 40's with a strong North to Northwest wind. *Rain may change to snow in the late afternoon hours in NE MO and West Central IL.

Wed night- Rain then rain/sleet after 10pm in the STL metro area then snow after 1am low around the freezing mark. For salem, Rain then rain/sleet after 1am then snow after 3am. low around the freezing mark.

Thanksgiving:) Mostly cloudy with a chance of a couple of snow showers ending in the morning. Otherwise expect cold temperatures with flurries or drizzle. High in the upper 30's

Thursday night- Cold low in the mid 20's

Hopefully everyone will get a dusting on the ground for thanksgiving.  However people to the North and West of STL will experienance travel headaches. It will be a fun storm system to watch unfold.  HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!!

My name is Reath and I'm 18 years old and I've been interested in the weather since I was hit by a EF2 Tornado in 1996. I attend Salem Community High School as a senior; everyone there calls me doppler. So I created a blog with that name. On the side I love takeing photos of clouds and lighting. I also enjoy writting reports on the weather and handing them out to my teachers and fellow classmates. And now blogging. Enjoy!
