Doppler's Blog

Can you possibliy believe I'm writting a blog about the first snow of the season and its only november 1st.  Well if you don't believe it think a again.  I'm half and half on this developing weather sitution for its a little to early to nail it down if there will truley be enough cold and moisture.  However with the arrival of the artic cold front next week it will drop our temperatures into the 50's day mid to upper 30's night. Afterwards the following weekend there will be another cold front possibliy early in the week with the low pressure system stated below, will drop our temperatures in the lower 40's day and mid 20's night. With that in mind I'm going on a limb and saying with the help of accuweather.com a low pressure system will develop rather it be a alberta clipper or an actual southern low pressure system ridding a cold front will fight the cold air in place and hopefully it will pull enough moisture northward for snow.  Accuweather has the system and snow hitting Monday November 12 through Tuesday night November 13th.  Hopefully this event will happen, at this time I'll put a 40% chance of snow between the days of the 12th and 13th.

Anyone else have any thoughs about this possble snowfall on the 12th and 13th?

I sure do like the sound of it, though to be honest, I have not done enough research to back that up.

I love the idea of it and I saw when accuweather had it posted. However, this morning they have taken it off. Boo hoo!!! Maybe they'll put it back in the forecast because it's still days away!! We can only hope! Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

As much as I would love to see some snow, there is no way you could pin down a storm this far out. The models are going to have storms, loose storms, and everything in between during this pattern shift. The good news is that it looks like there could be at least marginally supportive temperatures if something does brew, particularly if we get a potent cyclone to develop. I do see a slight window of opportunity around the 7-9th of Nov. for light(not much more than flurries at this point) snow, but beyond that, I have no comment. There is just no since in getting your hopes up based on a model forecast beyond day 7.

I agree with BRTNWXMAN no since of getting our hopes up but as snowday_lover said we can only hope and a lot can happen between now and then.

My name is Reath and I'm 18 years old and I've been interested in the weather since I was hit by a EF2 Tornado in 1996. I attend Salem Community High School as a senior; everyone there calls me doppler. So I created a blog with that name. On the side I love takeing photos of clouds and lighting. I also enjoy writting reports on the weather and handing them out to my teachers and fellow classmates. And now blogging. Enjoy!
