WASHINGTON (AP) -- A senior U.S. military official says the U.S. government has approved a draft agreement on reducing the American military presence in Iraq. The official said the deal is not final and is subject to acceptance by Iraqi leaders. The official said that barring any Iraqi objections that would require a reopening of negotiations, the agreement meets U.S. objectives. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal has not yet been announced, said it includes an American demand that the United States retains exclusive legal jurisdiction over its troops in Iraq. Also worked out by negotiators is a companion agreement known as a strategic framework agreement. The official said that Washington has approved it but it still is subject to final approval in Baghdad. That agreement covers a range of political, economic and security relationships between the United States and Iraq.

Think this is a good idea?

Wasn't this agreement a part of Obamas' speech?
Or maybe he is the official who created this draft.

Sounds like Polosi and Obama MIGHT be getting what they want. But it will not pass. Because it is the worst idea to be proposed since the war started.

Not exactly OV..Obama's plan was to get out,,PERIOD..To retreat,,Period..He was calling for it BEFORE the Surge EVEN as he was saying we LOST the War..

In Light of the apparent SUCCESS in Iraq,,MADE so BY the SUrge,,I think that it's time we at least started to negotiate a PHASED withdrawal from Iraq as long as we don't see the terrorists coming back to replace our forces..

This is not Obama or the Democrats idea , in fact this could not be worse news for them ! Fact is the Dem majority in congress has not made any attempt to end the war in the 2 years they have been in office and the DNC's “plan” was to not do anything until after they get elected in November ....this little development will send dem's running to find a different subject to lean on (and do nothing about)

The Democrats have been NOTHING but Heavilly INVESTED in defeat in Iraq..They did NOT oppose the War..A”NO WAR” scenario was USELESS to them..FAR better to Vote FOR a War ( then convince everybody that you didn’t THUS making it a PURELY Republican War) and THEN do everything they can to insure an Utter defeat under a Republican President..It serves TWO purposes..It PUNISHES the American People for voting IN a Republican President and it provides a CRISES that THEY can Exploit..

“Democrats get us out of a Quagmire”,, “Democrats Clean up a Republican Mess”,, “ ALL hail the Democrats”,, “Republicans go down in complete Disgrace”..”Republican President Gets IMPEACHED”

THOSE are the Headlines that THEY seek..”America WINS” is something that they FEAR most of all..

THIS is PRECISELY the scenario we were looking at some 35 years ago..
TWO things are different today..

35 YEARS ago they were,,with the EAGER help of the MSM monopoly,, able to convince FAR too many Americans that a War STARTED by Dermocrats,,Mishandled by Democrats for 10 years and finally ENDED by a Republican was and ALWAYS was a LOSING “ Nixon’s War”..

Today they don’t get away with the “Bush’s War” BS..They TRY but with ALL the alternatives to the MSM these days it’s just TOO easy to PROVE that they’re LYING..
Two,,Just as was TRUE 35 years ago in the Jungles of Viet Nam,, the Greatest ALLIES to the Terrorists in the Middle East today are the Democrats and the MSM..BOTH enemies OFTEN quoted these sources in their PROPAGANDA..

The FALL of the Liberal MSM Monopoly has made ALL the difference in t

The FALL of the Liberal MSM Monopoly has made ALL the difference in the world..They No longer exert the kind of Influence that they Once did..They No longer manipulate with impunity the opinions of the American People as they were ONCE so successful in doing..Remember,,MOST historians agree that the turning point in Viet Nam occurred NOT with the Tet Offensive which was an NVA Disaster,, and NOT with theMining of Haipong Harbor which was a MAJOR Success for America during that War,, but with the words “ We have LOST the War” uttered on American TV sets all across the country by one deemed by the MSM itself as “ the most Trusted Man in America..”..

They TRIED to do it THIS time too but NO one is so Blind as they were then..The UNTHINKABLE happened..The American People,, AS A PEOPLE,, were NOT swayed by Political Hacks and as a result,, we have ALL the indications of a SUCCESSFUL outcome in Iraq..ALL that remains for those who bet on a different outcome THESE days is to TRY to HI-JACK the Credit..When THAT doesn’t work they’ll simply go back DOWNPLAYING the WHOLE reason for the War in Iraq..To Turn a VICTORY against the TERRORISTS into a WASTE of TIME and more importantly..American LIVES..
