So Republican's are the bible thumpers.  The "Christian" party.  Jesus was all about helping people, but Republican's are all about helping people as long as it doesn't effect them.  The bible talks about redistribution of wealth, hmmm.  Sounds alot like Socialism.  Weird.  I'm not a big fan of Socialism, but I'm curious as to why the party that stands on a pulpit and claims to be God's party, is selective about what part of God's word they choose to follow.

So who is God's party?  Who knows?  God hasn't talked to anyone in thousands of years.  Hell, even Mother Theresa said she hadn't felt God's presence in over 50 years.

Putting God into the equation is stupid cause everyone on both sides of the isle contradict themselves politically.

I would think, and hope, that God frowns on the total idiocy of this nation's political process.

Actually , not to get into a religious Argument, but Jesus said to give away all you own and follow him. Not follow the Roman government, or Follow your Boss..but Him. He also didn't provide free healthcare, food, and shelter. He performed Miracles, that did provide food, life, etc. But that was to Prove to those that he is the Son of God, not to create a society of Moochers. All of those that followed him, lived very hard lives..and Jesus didn't do it for them. He expected his followers to work, in the form of preaching. He even said when questioned about paying taxes , Give to Caeser what is Caesers, and Give to God what is God's.

So Jesus and Socialism..no comparison..because a Socialist Government wants to do everything for you, for nothing but your money in return. They also expect you to come to them for all the answers..instead of going to God. They wish to Remove God from everything..so you worship the Government......doesn't sound liek anything Jesus said....

But I do understand your Blog Point....but I just disagree with the anology..

ooops - hit the wrong button

The Republicans aren't bible thumpers, but a lot of Bible thumpers are Republicans. The Republicans pander to the Bible thumpers, telling them what they want to hear, just to get their vote. The Bible thumpers vote for the Republicans, because they want to believe that their ideals are shared by the politicians.

The Republicans (politicians, that is) say they are pro-life and want to change the current abortion laws. However, since George W. got into office in 2000, the Republicans have had control of the Presidency, the House, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. If ever there was opportunity to change the abortion laws, the last 7 years was their time. But they did nothing.

Does being pro-life end when the baby is born? Is that the time to cut "entitlement programs" (as the Republicans are so fond of calling them?) If they're really pro-life, shouldn't they be willing, even glad, to help that baby live if the mother can't afford formula and diapers? And shouldn't the baby get the same quality health care that other babies get? Is it possible that the Republicans could have done something in the last 7 years to make it easier for couples that want to adopt an unwanted baby?

There really aren't many similarities between the Government with its policies and Jesus with his teachings. Jesus didn't embrace any earthly government, but the early Church was communistic - they shared everything.

Jesus lived in a simpler time. To try and compare and assign one of the many governmental forms to his ideologies just won't work. Jesus preached a very well meant message, and I respect that, but today is a much different time than Jesus's.

Ceaser, being who he is these days, a democratic republic in our case, should provide for the common protection of all his citizens. His citizens in turn provide support in the form of taxes, lawful obedience, or sometimes civil disobedience, according to our conscience, and service, sometimes military or public.
Worship however does not belong to Caeser.
Thus, the separation as it should rightly exist.

Custody case is over. Let me self get screwed over by the lawyers so the kids have to stay with her for now. With any luck, I can get them before they start high school so I can get them back on track and not watch them become a statistic.
