The news story on teaching babies as young as 6 months how to swim just kinda rattled me. I'm all for teaching children to swim, at say age 3 or 4 years old, but babies?? Why on earth would you need to do that? No baby at that age should even be in a position to need such knowledge! Why can't we just let babies and children be what they are instead of always pushing stuff on them at younger and younger ages! A baby at that age should be home being rocked and cuddled and made to feel loved and secure, not being thrown into water and taught how to save itself! As I stated previously, a baby should not even be in a position to even need this training. I do not understand parents these days!

I thought the earthquake this morning was pretty strong. What I felt here in Weldon Spring, Missouri was a small tremor that became stronger and stronger, then subsided. My bed was really shaking and I could hear things rattling in the house. I thought it lasted at least 30 seconds because I actually had time to think about what was going on before it was over!
I remember a small tremor back in 1982-1983. Not very strong at all, but the news reports at the time did confirm it . And I do believe there was a small one in the early to mid 1990's. I've searched the internet, but can't find anything on these (but I'm not very computer savvy), so I was wondering if anyone else who has lived in the area a long time can remember these.
