I was a 60's hippy when liberals beleived in the words of John Kennedy, what we are seeing today are Radicals, claiming to be only Liberal.

Conservatives work hard, want to keep more of what they earn, believe in small government, low taxes,less money for government and more money for family budgets. Help the poor not the lazy and irresponsible.

So what are you if you believe the following:
1) Secure borders, no amnesty for illegals.
2) No welfare/schooling or free healthcare for illegals.
3) STIFF penalties for employers of illegal aliens. (Possibly confiscation of the profits that the company gained by using these illegals)
4) Reinstitute the CCC camps & social work programs for those who receive welfare: you want a hand out? WORK for it. (This would help with the sudden loss of illegal migrant workers, because we've shipped them back)
5) Flat income tax across the board.
6) Balance the budget, slash the specialty spending, tighten the gov'ts belt and start being fiscally sound before we all have to learn chinese.
7) Commit to alternative energy by the year 2020. Do what FDR did, demand that the big 3 make changes, each one has to have at least 1 vehicle that gets over 50 miles to the gallon.
8) Limit importation of items that compete with American manufacturing, specifically cars and clothing.
9) Start storehousing wheat because the Saudi's are cutting out their home grown wheat due to lack of water, in the next few years they will be importing 100% of their wheat. Once again we may be able to sell our wheat to them for what we are paying them for oil.
10) Institute mandatory recycling in the big cities and hopefully later in the suburbs.
11) Make jail inmates work for their keep and also feed them a balanced diet of good healthy food, beans, veggies, etc... nothing fancy! Don't let them have any benefits unless they earn them, that means air conditioning (unless a medical necessity), TV, smokes

Very interesting. Much of this conversation has to do with semantics. It has to do with geography and the traditional definition of the word liberal and conservative. For instance: In Europe people who are closest to the liberal views of Americans are called conservatives. Those closest to conservative American views are called liberals.
The political conservative movement in the USA was started as an anti communist movement. We were joined by Christians who apposed the Godless aspect of socialism. We also attracted a large following of libertarians against intrusive big government and free market free trade advocates. A really good coalition that brought Ronald Reagan to power. After Ronald Reagan saved the world economy practically single handed. He then led the USA to victory in the cold war against the old soviet Union. Ronald Reagan's administration was a peak in conservative power. Conservatives peaked again for a short time with Newt Gingrich as speaker of the house. He arrived just in time to prevent Bill Clinton from destroying the economy. Ironically Newt saved the Clinton legacy from being the worst in history. George Bush the 2d has been pretty much 1/2 and 1/2 "conservative" "liberal" The conservative side tax cuts the war judicial appointments and economy have been successful.

Liberals are concerned about their RIGHTS.

Conservatives are concerned about their RESPONSIBILITIES!

memobo: We all want exactly what you wrote, well maby not all of us. The free-loaders and moochers would not want that, but they need their own country.

True Americans are really strong people. I don't think they are going to stand for this country being ripped apart by the thugs in Washington DC
