Did  we,in fact, build and support a government that will distroy  us?   And how did we do that???????

We all wanted a better life, just like our families who came over here and built this country.   May be, our bleeding hearts that always try to help others?????

You really cannot help others until you can help  yourself.

Becoming a country of people that are good examples would have helped, not letting them come over here and take what you built.

Instead of fixing their countries , they just leave the mess behind.   Sort of like neighborhoods.  Some will go in and distroy and then move on to a cleaner one and distroy it.   The same with countries.

Gee
are we talking about our 13% population group that was held in bondage? that's what they have done in every major urban city in this country.

Have a blessed day.

Amom,

I don't understand your point... could you be more specific.

We-are the world,

He humbles those who dwell on high,
he lays the lofty city low;
he levels it to the ground
and casts it down to the dust.

Feet trample it down—
the feet of the oppressed,
the footsteps of the poor.

Isaiah wishes you a blessed day as well.

The only thing holding you in "bondage" is your own people...the victim card falls on deaf ears...

I don't play cards... I'm part white and often apologize to myself for all that cotton.

You're kidding yourself if you believe oppression can be wrapped up in a quiant trite snobbish little cliche' like race card.

Playing with a full deck means acknowledging all the cards that are in the deck. You are the oppressor through a sin of omission.

yeah right...first of all I said victim not race...read again...yeah I'm sure all that crime is just my imagination....obey the laws....don't take drugs...get a job....yeah really oppressive...every night on the news; shooting or arson in North St.Louis....sounds like you have problems only a psychiatrist can help...

Save your breath Legholas - anything anyone says will be ignored - these 'people' WANT to be a victim! That is what they live and abide by - poor pitiful me syndrome! That is their excuse for crime, for sloth, for greed, for trash, for destruction, for ignorance, for laziness, for no education, for populating the world with illetgimiate kids that no one knows 'who the babby daddy is'! They can't function without the feeling sorry for themselves - it isn't going to change. This is what they are taught from their first breath. It's unfortunate, but accurate!

Tagalong68

you insult every decent truth loving American male who believes in the history of this nation.

Those people you are talking about are a minority that your news media exploits so that your government can make you see the need for a self perpetuation us against them mentality.

This is the pathetic brainwashing of those who chose to believe they are better than them. "I thank you Lord, that I'm not like them." Sad...

we are all the "them". the term minority. that is a nonsense term. when does the minority become the majority. does only sheer numbers count? is oppression taught? do people tilt at windmills? do they cry before they are hurt? do they think because of a time in history, way before their time they are owed something? everyone of us to a man should take responsibilty for their own actions, stop waiting for everyone to feel sorry for their plight, real or imagined. each and every snowflake is unlike any other snowflake, packed together it is a clump of snow. be a snowflake not a clump. respect all of the other snowflakes because together we make a difference too.

Hasn't it occured to you that holding such an extremist generalist point of view puts you in denial and makes you part of the problem. Indeed it is leeching viewpoints like yours that keep oppressed people oppressed. You think that denying oppression of blacks by our systems and procedures is ok as long as it doesn't affect you. You people want to praise MLK and Bill Cosby and anyone you think is "like you". When right now there is a black young man full of wisdom and grace and potential and yes "HARD BALL BREAKING ASS WORK" and someone like you is going to come along and say "Well those cops wouldn't have beaten you if it had 'really' been a case of mistaken identity."

America, love it, all of it or leave it. Love it with justice and not racist rhetoric from the good ole days.

inri... last post not about your post.

That time in history your are talking about is happening right now. There are Obama supporters being severely treated in many towns of this nation. This would have been the case if it had been Colin Powell. Face up to it folks... you need to clean the racist out of your own house. We've already done that... we've already cleaned the powerful racist groups out of black society. The ones not supplied by other power groups that is. Time for you people to do the same.

Are you kidding? The blacks are the most racist of anyone! You don't even like each other for reasons such as your skin is too light, or he is an Uncle Tom, or he is just trying to be "white" because he is attempting to better himself instead of living the way most of 'em do. The truth is that people don't judge you by the color of your skin, they are judging you by your actions; and this is what you do and how you act! FYI, I worked for a criminal attorney and believe me I see it all every day, day in, day out! Same ole lame excuses...didn't fly then, and it doesn't fly now!!! YOU, Statueman, wake up and smell it for what it is!!! Not for what you WANT to believe!! Even you are reinforcing the fact that you are part "WHITE"...But, you are still black..

Oh sure dust off the old reverse racist arguement. You're the one making blanket criticisms of an entire segment of the population and now their also racist. Are you stupid? If blacks are reverse racist then you're a double reverse racist...

Oh wow look I can quote MLK and not bat an eyelash and say "Well we killed him because we loved him so much we just want to quote him now and say why didn't "YOU PEOPLE" believe in him?"

Now you new minority types are whining cause you're getting a taste of the persecution of being a race... sad. Yeah... go ahead and keep with this pathetic brainwashed far right "I worked for everything I got and you're lazy" rhertoric. I'm not part white I'm an American! All American! My ancestors founded this country and you can't have it. Oh why don't you just come out of the closet and admit what you really believe. Talk here the things you only talk when you think some guy like me isn't standing next to you. I hear your very soul and know full well who and what you are.

talk about brain-washed...more rage..more anger...boo-hoo is me...isn't it time to take your meds? And go back to the psych ward?...you think most americans are stupid and believe your dribble?...laugh at it more likely...your a pathetic angry clown just like your pastor wright...isn't it time for you and B.O. to go to church?..church of the whiners

I didn't whine when I held my hand up and swore to protect the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies foreign... and domestic. And neither did Pastor Wright when he served in the Marine Corps. And while I'll agree somewhat that what gets preached in that church is not the message I would sit under for very long I sure as hell understand why some folks do. And if you don't understand then I suggest you go look in the mirror. Oppression makes a wise man mad. And you are an oppressor... your words to me bear that out and my words to you brought that out.

However, your recognition of my insanity bears reflection on your own does it not? If one whines about people whining is he not also... a whiner?

to answer your question; no...I also served and the discipline you learned was apparently lost in some fog...unless you were kicked out?...It's all about not blaiming others for your own situation....my dad was an Army Captain so we were not rich...but I made a good life for myself....

Alot of folks play the blame game... don't be so ignorant as to believe that black people have cornered the market on that. I'm a retired veteran if you'd bothered to read my profile. I just don't buy it when folks say they earned everything they got when some folks work real hard and get nothing cause other folks accuse them of getting ahead just because they're black. And that's what people like you do isn't it? You complain that some black man made out better than a white man who was "more qualified" (as if in your mind there was a white man who lived that could be less qualified).

Yeah... you did it all yourself earned it all yourself didn't have a thing to do with who you are and who you grew up with and how you grew up believing. No blessing in there at all you did it all you're just all that and a bag of chips and God forbid anyone should tell you to count your blessing.

The point is nothing is holding them back...or anyone back...when did I accuse them of getting ahead?...and it has alot to do with who you grew up with and what attitudes are passed down...or perpetuated ....

Agreed... well, I'm done. Gonna go take my meds and settle down to a nice relaxing dinner with my American family. They all like Barack and think that planned parenthood is a good thing... I like Mc Cain and think it's about time we had troops in the middle east instead of just lobbing cruise missles at suspected training camps.

So as you can see I'm mixed up in more ways than one. My old Guard unit is heading back "Over There" at the end of the summer. It breaks my heart that I won't be going with them... Guys in my unit used to have conversations like this... I was usually just a mediator and a diplomatic joke maker. I've suprised myself on these blogs lately.

I find it hard to believe the incredible amount of misconceptions thrown about here.
Not all blacks destroy rob or kill.
Not all whites are opressors.
You are talking about such a small segment of both peoples. 95% of us are good honest hard working people. By us I mean humans. It is just that 5% gets noticed. Does anyone notice the ditch digger, the soldier, the doctor or any other occupation. No. We notice the lowlifes. Why is this? Are we just glad we are not them?
Someone stated to me one time that I am the exception to the rule. That I was different from most black men. I say emphatically that I am the rule. I am the norm. We want the same things. A good life. Period. It is time to grow up as a nation and see where this is leading us. United we stand. Divided we fall.
Just let it go, worry about your own life and get on with it.
