Tell me about your experiences great/bad with our health field.

One of my aunts  had, what we thought was de-mentia. She couldn't remember what she ate or said, or what anyone told her.

Another person started taking care of her and reduced the meds that she was taking.

Walllllllll-laaaaaaaaa----She can now carry on a conversation, go out and eat.  She does not ask the same question over and over.  What a change.   Tooooooooooooooooomuch medication.

Lots of other stories about doctors perscribing ,WAY-TO-MANY-DRUGS.

Also what about hospitals keeping doctors on staff that should never be in the medical field.

I think they must worship the $$$$$$$$.

I have many stories.. where do I start?

I went for a biopsy for breast cancer in '97. I hadn't had a surgery since I was 4 when I had my tonsils removed. Since I had some GYN issues, I figured I'd have my D&C and laparoscopy while I was "under". Both doctors present told my husband I had breast cancer b4 I came to. I was groggy and sitting next to my husband when I asked him if they said I had cancer.. he said yes. Both doctors had left the hospital. The receptionist came over and asked if I was ready to go home.

No counseling.. nothing.. sent me home.. on a Friday. It's a wonder that I'm alive... there's many more stories.. it didn't end there. I call it my own .. PTS. (post traumatic stress) I often ask myself why nobody cares.

Thank you MissDaisy: I think everyone has a lot of stories.

I woke up in the middle of a gall-bladder operation. I didn't feel anything, but they were all laughing, like a big party.

I have never felt good since then. My stomach is constantly swelled out. I am now getting some more tests.

My Mom was told that she needed a heart operation. THey had her under and someone there took another test, and it was fluid around her heart and lungs. That man that almost operated on her is the one thats in trouble for threatening to shoot a nurse in the operating room at St. Anthony's.

Everyone is having trouble.

My niece and her husband was having a baby.
Right in the middle of the labor, the doctor said, "I am going on home, my daughter is having a birthday party." They left my niece and someone else delivered this baby girl.

On Monday that doctor came in and wanted to know if they wanted the baby circumcised.

around nine years ago I was pregnant the doctors confirmed it. but I was having problems, I went to an ultrasound and the tech told me they made a mistake, that I was not pregnant. After more ultrasound spanning at least 3 mounts everyone still claiming I was not pregnant, it happened.

it started early Monday morning the day after mothers day. I started feeling sick, I passed out, don't know for how long. I was very lucky my husband was coming home early from a trip to his sisters the night before we were watching her house because she was out of town for the week. he called 911 they took me to the nearest hospital the ride there was a blur I kept coming in and out the pain was unbearable I told the paramedics that I had a ectopic pregnancy and it has ruptured I was bleeding to death. know comes the problems the hospital would not believe me and keep me waiting in pain with no drugs for hours till they could figure out what was going on then around five hours later after telling me I was not pregnant they took me for a ultrasound still not seeing anything and sending me into more pain by pumping me with water in an already expanding belly of blood they take me back to er and to tell my family that I will be going up for exploratory surgery since they could not see what was going on. they prep me for a surgery. the only thing good is that I only lost one tub. but that's not the end

a year later I was still f**ing with the insurance company, they told me " you were to get prior authorization to go to this hospital" I told her is was passed out and bleeding to death and did not have the time to give her a call and ask if it was ok to go to the nearest hospital to be saved. the pain I endured was what keep me from trying to have another child for so long now I have my daughter 24 hrs of labor that ended in a c-sec any way.

I took my son to a hospital, he had appendicitis.

But they didn't tell me that. They didn't tell me that they only had one person who could do surgery, and he lived in St. Louis, and that it would be two days before he came to do this procedure.

Instead, they just kept saying, we need this test and that test and this test and that test.

Until I thought he would die. I was calling other hospitals who said that he would have been taken care of as soon as he got in there.

Then after the operation the doctor said, oH it was nothing we just took it out for percaustion.sp. I went in an talked to the nurse who got the folder for me. THe thing was about ready to burst.

What is it with these hospitals. All worship money. 5 million dollar building and no one to do the job. What a mess.
